Parents Pulling Together is a three year project funded by the National Lottery.
The project will use the funding over the three years to offer a peer support parenting programme known as "Being a Parent" across Hartlepool which will provide training and support to at least 420 parents. This aims to empower parents with improved knowledge skills and confidence around parenting that will help to result in more positive behaviours and emotional wellbeing amongst children.
Being a Parent is an 8 week parenting course available to anyone within Hartlepool, whether you are a parent, carer, grandparent, single mum, dad or step parent!
It is a parenting course delivered by parents, for parents and is designed to learn new parenting skills and have some fun!
We are not professionals, we are just parents ourselves and we have trained as Parent Community Connectors to provide support in all aspects of parenting.
We deliver our courses through Hartlepool Children's Centres and across primary schools so please get in touch if you are interested.
If anyone support is ever needed please contact one of your parent community connectors.

As you all know we applied for funding to put on breakfast and play at the Brewers Fayre for our parents who have attended our Being a Parent course!
We had places for 15 parents and up to 30 kids for free breakfast for all and play for the kids!
Some weeks we had 16 or sometimes 17 adults attend so for our final week we only had places for 12 adults to attend. It was a little quiet! We made sure to fit in those parents who were not able to attend over the previous weeks.
Some children also didn't have photograph consent so not too many photos this week and for obvious reasons we also didn't take a group photograph as it wouldn't be much of a group.
We did take a few snaps though!
Can I also just introduce you all to the woman behind all the graft and planning of your breakfast and play! The lovely face who thought of the idea and if it wasn't for her there would have been no breakfast and play at all!
Please meet one of our lovely parent community connectors!
Katie Wilson!
She has attended every week even when she was supposed to be off on annual leave!
She is our little super star! And even though she isn't going to be around our office as much soon, we are going to miss her dearly! Katie had a paid position with us as maternity cover, and that is coming to an end soon!
But don't worry! This isn't the end of Katie! As she is still volunteering for us and will still be delivering our parent courses as her wealth of knowledge is amazing and she helps parents on a daily basis!
Here she is modelling our Being a Parent bags which you can get free of charge when you now attend one of our courses.
And here is the rest of the images from your last week of breakfast and play...
