Net Zero Plan - Employee Survey

What are the priorities for the Council to focus on around climate change? What can we do to reduce our contribution to climate change?

Human activities are responsible for the majority of the increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere in recent years, which is the main driver of climate change and global warming. The total amount of greenhouse gases generated by our actions is known as our 'carbon footprint'. To be ‘net zero’ means to cut greenhouse gas emissions to as close to zero as possible, with any remaining emissions re-absorbed from the atmosphere by the oceans and forests for instance. The net zero plan sets out the strategy to make Council operations as close to net zero as possible by a set date.

The questionnaire asks about your views around climate change and what matters to you, how you think climate change affects the environment, barriers that impact on the Council’s ability to deliver its services, and what you think the Council’s priorities should be in terms of reducing its impact on climate change (mitigation) and preparing for a changing climate (adaptation).
