Update:

This consultation has now closed. Thank you to everyone who took part. Read the consultation update at the bottom of the page to discover how consultation respondents influenced the development of the new strategy.

The Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 required councils across England to prepare and implement a clear strategy for homelessness reduction. Hartlepool Borough Council’s approach to homelessness is one of partnership with a shared commitment to reducing, preventing and tackling homelessness through a multi-agency approach.

The Council's Housing / Homelessness Team and the Homelessness Prevention Partnership have developed a three-year Homelessness Reduction and Rough Sleeping Strategy which sets out how together we will tackle homelessness in Hartlepool.

Download the strategy and then use the tabs below to tell us what you think:

  • Use the "Our priorities" tab to see the four key priorities of the strategy and tell us whether you agree with them or if you think anything is missing
  • Use the "Tell us what you think" tab to complete a short survey about the draft Strategy. You will also find the chance to "Tell us your story" here where you can tell us about your experience of homelessness
  • Use the "Ask a question" tab to ask the team a question and we'll publish the answer on the site
