Young people in Hartlepool have a new face to represent them with the election of Georgia Robson as the town's Member of the UK Youth Parliament (MYP). The 16 year old will serve for two years, working with youth groups, councillors and other decision makers on issues that matter to young people aged 11-18.

"I am very proud to have been elected and I'll be doing everything possible to make the voices of young people in Hartlepool heard."

Moving forward Georgia wants to improve the mental health support available to students at school or college. I struggles with my own mental health during COVID, missing loved ones and friends and feeling anxious and isolated, so I know what an important issue this is for young people."

Georgia has launched a consultation on young people's mental health, seeking the views and experiences of 11-18 year olds in the borough. Please click on the survey button below to take part in this consultation and provide information on the state of young peoples mental health and what might help them moving forward into the future.

The survey will be open until 30th June 2022 and Georgia is really keen to gain as many views as possible from 11 to 18 years across Hartlepool.

  • The Hartlepool Member of Youth Parliament has joined up with the Hartlepool Youth Service to look at the issues of mental health/emotional wellbeing of young people in Hartlepool. We would like to know: 

    • About your understanding of mental health/emotional wellbeing
    • Your experience with mental health if any
    • Your experience and viewpoint of mental health services within school
    • Ways you think your mental health/emotional wellbeing can be improved 

    Mental health/emotional wellbeing is how you feel on any particular day.
