Update:
Thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation. Read the consultation update at the bottom of the page for details of how respondents influenced the Member Champion roles.
Member Champions are Elected Members who act as an advocate or spokesperson for a specific area of the Council’s business. The main responsibility of each Member Champion is to encourage communication and positive action over the issue they represent.
Member Champions are outward-facing, enthusiastic, and focused on raising the profile of the issue they champions.
We need your help to identify the issues the public would like the Member Champions to represent. For this we are asking for you to identify what you believe are the priority issues in Hartlepool so that we can identify Member Champion roles that will be taken up by Elected Members.
Once identified each Member Champion role will have a job description and role requirements and the Member Champions take on this role in addition to their usual duties as Elected Members.
Take the short survey below to give us your views on which causes should be represented in the Member Champion roles. The closing date for responses is Wednesday 22nd September 2021.

There are currently 10 member champion roles. Two of these are required by the Armed Forces Covenant: the Veterans Champion and Armed Forces Champion. The other 8 are optional roles and we would like you to tell us which ones of these you think we should keep and suggest any new member champion roles that you think are missing.
