Housing Allocation Policy Consultation 2024

Our Housing Allocation Policy outlines how we allocate social housing available to applicants on the housing register.

It sets out:

• Our policy on applicant choice and preference
• Who can apply for housing
• How we assess and prioritise applicants for housing

We have recently drafted an updated version of our Housing Allocation Policy in response to changes in local delivery and demand.

The main changes that we are consulting on are:

• Our priority bands
• How we assess under-occupation, overcrowding, property entitlement and additional bedrooms
• How we assess local connection

We are consulting with all residents, applicants, social landlords and relevant stakeholders to seek their views and opinions.
