Every so often we will be uploading a blog from either ourselves or one of our volunteers on our "mum life" or "dad life" Because we do have male volunteers.

This blog will be full of tips and tricks on what we have done to manage a situation at home, or even just a what not to do on how dramatically wrong something has gone, because lets face it, we are all parents and yes... things do go wrong, and it is human to admit that it does go wrong from time to time!

A topic we discuss a lot on our course is how we are not perfect parents because the perfect parent does not exist! So lets give ourselves a break and let ourselves off the hook a little and remember we are good enough and doing the best we can with the knowledge we have been given! So for now, I'm going to wish youse all a happy day and I hope you all look forward to our first blog!

Have you ever wondered how draining a morning can be before you have even managed to get your children dropped off for school, think about this for a minute...

    Mornings are hectic!

Fighting them to even get out of bed is a task, finally 10 minutes have passed and they up and made it downstairs, now it’s the rush of making breakfast cereal, but mam I didn’t want chocolate hoops I wanted Weetabix, halfway through making the Weetabix, mam I want toast! ARRGHHH, do you feel like screaming yet?

Finally, breakfast is done everyone got what they wanted but now it is taking them 15 minutes to eat it up, and its now 8am. Now we must get them into their uniforms pack up their lunches sign the books from reading the night before because mam life got too busy and you completely forgot to do it after they had passed you it last night. So while you’re busy packing the lunches in the kitchen the children are deciding to fling socks at one another in the front room and before you know it 1 has landed behind the couch. So upstairs you go to get a new pair of socks because this will be much more of a time saving than fighting round the children to get behind the couch to rescue the lost sock!

Right now, its 20 past 8 and you must leave the house by 25 past, one kid only has one sock on the other one is looking for a missing shoe! Your morning is going dreadfully and you're about ready to blow!

Do you know why this happens?

Well let me explain…. Where on earth did us mams find the time to have ourselves a morning cuppa or a slice of toast for breakfast? No, that’s right, we didn’t! From the time of us getting up to leaving the door to get the kiddies to school we are already drained of energy, and we need to find some time to refill...

By just doing something as little as having a cuppa and a slice of toast can help us start filling our jugs back up, ready for the children coming back home from school for all the fun and chaos to start again!

Make sure you’re looking after yourselves to ensure we can look after others!

Just a morning in the day of a life of a mamma with 4 chaotic boys!

Keep your eyes peeled for weekly blogs about my parenting life😊
