A new Long Term Plan for Hartlepool
What’s happening?
Hartlepool is one of 55 towns chosen by the Government to be part of the Plan for Neighbourhoods (previously called the Long Term Plan for Towns). This programme supports town centre regeneration by involving local people and organisations in shaping investment priorities.
The town will receive £20 million in funding over the next few years. This is in addition to money already secured through the Town Deal and Levelling Up Fund.
Who’s involved?
A new Town Board will be set up to lead this work. The board will:
Create a shared vision for Hartlepool
Develop an investment plan based on local priorities
Use feedback from the Big Conversation and local data
The current Town Deal Board, which started in 2023, will continue to support the programme until the new board is in place.
