Domestic Abuse Strategy 2026-29
Following a detailed needs assessment carried out during 2024 and 2025, we are pleased to introduce our new draft Domestic Abuse Strategy for 2026-29.
Domestic Abuse is a global, national and local issue. Local estimates suggest that nearly 2,000 adults in Hartlepool experienced domestic abuse in the last 12 months. However, domestic abuse is a hidden crime that often goes unreported. Additionally, every domestic abuse incident can have multiple impacts on victims, their families, communities and services so it is likely that this figure is an underestimate.
Our new draft Strategy identifies the key issues relating to domestic abuse in Hartlepool. It also sets out the three priorities we will focus on over the next three years, and the actions we will take to achieve them.

The survey will close on the 30th January 2026.
